RECOMMENDATIONS               

2006 Wrap-Up 

      1- Remove stakes supporting trees if possible ?????

      2- Courtyard trimming

 Landscaper to trim center of courtyard around columns. Do not trim potted plants. Owners will be advised to trim their bushes inside courtyard to a 5 to 6 foot height per Grande Cay guidelines.

           3- Add seasonal flowers in front of Grande Cay sign in May and November.

           4- Test Irrigation System during afternoon hours for a 1 week period ??????

           Post schedule on notice board.

           Check for proper water coverage, sprinkler flow, damaged sprinkler heads,

           and spray pattern.

            Owners to notify committee members of any sprinkler problems

           they observe. Dino will be notified of any irrigation/sprinkler problem.

       5- Dino to supply Sprinkler flags to mark defective sprinklers.

           Flags to be supplied to Landscape Committee members and other

           identified owners.

        6- Add rocks as ground cover on top of pool fountain.                    COMPLETED

       7- Trim Black Olive trees to a height that address signs on units can be seen 

            from the road. Special note: Trees in front of Bldgs. 2900 & 3000

            are especially low.

            Cost = $    N/C

       8- Remove post in berm on Westport Drive in front of stop sign on

            Compass Point.

            Cost $   N/C

        9- Trim palm trees on the waterfall in the pool area.                     COMPLETED

             Cost $   N/C

       10- Trim berries/seeds on palm trees overhanging the spa.

             To Be Done by Horizon Tree Service                                        COMPLETED

        11- Trim the bushes around the pool fence for privacy of owners facing the pool.

        Do not thin out the bushes in the middle. Trim the bushes so they do not go 

     through the fence. Trim the height above the fence about 6 ft and please                                     make sure the  bushes are level.

          12- Do Not trim circles around trees to more than 4 feet in diameter.

             Sod tree circles in April/May 2007 as needed.

              Note: The circles will not be trimmed for a few months. Trimming will

                          be reviewed at that time.

    13- Edging to be done ONLY around CONCRETE driveways and the street

             for the near term. This program will be reevaluated in the future.

      14- A part had to be ordered for bldg. 27 irrigation system.

              Repair should be completed by Nov. 20th.                                 COMPLETED

       15- Trimming around buildings should be completed by Nov. 30th.  

       16- Remove dead bush on side of Unit 2501 and replace with like bush.

            To be completed in Nov./Dec. and billed in January 2007.

       17- Mulching to be done on Dec 1st.

 1-      Get a quote to diagram irrigation system. Develop a plan to provide scheduled maintenance for sprinklers, irrigation timers, etc.

(Provide owners FLAGS to mark broken sprinkler heads )

Price to diagram irrigation system = $450/$550 per Dino.

Board to control whom has keys to irrigation system. Frankie to be the focal point to make changes to setting the timing of the sprinklers.

    2- Christmas Lights -- Reduce number of light strings.     

           Light Palm trees with flood lights, Red and Green,

           Instead of stringing lights around trees ????

    3- Change flowers in front of Grande Cay sign.

         Add seasonal flowers in May and November.

          Flowers to be added 2nd week of June. Landscaper to trim plants in front of 

          Grande Cay sign

     4- Fall Mulch ---   Review different types of mulch and obtain quotes.

           The landscape committee voted to keep the same Mulch as we have.

           (Cypress D Mulch)

      5- Develop a plan to control/trim landscaping inside the courtyards.

           Provide Guidelines for owners for plantings inside courtyards and plants

           around trees.

OVERALL MISSION

GREEN GRASS --------- HEALTHY PLANTS

OBJECTIVE (What do we want to accomplish?)

Develop a Landscape Operations Manual that documents for the Grande Cay Board of Directors a landscape maintenance process to be used by the present and future Boards. This manual will provide guidance and detail the overall process for the ongoing landscape maintenance for our community.

STRATEGY (How do we accomplish the objective?)

Develop an organization chart and define responsibilities.

(Management firm, Grande Cay Board & Committee members, and Vendors)

Identify vendors for landscape activities.

Set up schedules for:

Palm tree, Black Olive tree, and General Trimming

Plantings / Mulching / Fertilizing

Pest Control

Watering / Irrigation

Develop a landscape hurricane recovery process.

Discuss Process Improvement with the Landscape Vendors.

Define a process to monitor ongoing landscape costs vs. the fiscal budget.

LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE

GUIDELINES

Grande C Cay Board of Directors approved formation of a Landscape Committee.

The Landscape Committee will consist of Grande Cay owners.

The Landscape Committee meetings are open to all owners and duly posted 48 hrs in advance of each meeting.

The Landscape Committee is to be an "ADVISORY" group representing Grande Cay owners to define: landscape services, and costs, and tree trimming, mulching, watering, pest control, and plantings schedule, etc.

A summary of the Landscape Committee findings and recommendations will be submitted to the Grande Cay Board of Directors in written form 3 days prior to a Board of Directors meeting.

A member of the Board of Directors will be assigned as a Liaison / Director Oversight for the Landscape Committee.

WEEK OF 2 / 20 / 06

1-    Add Pygmy Date Palms at units 2204, 2406, 2704, 2908, and 3006.

2-    Ligustrum tree on side of unit 2901.

3-    Sable Palm between units 2501 and 2410.

4-    Sable Palm in front of unit 3310.

5-    Coco Plum in front of electric box – unit 2310.

6-    Add Floratam Sod in drive area for units 2505/06 and 2507/08.

7-    Add Ixora to hide A/C units behind units 3000 and 3200.

8-    Misc. Plants ( Hawthorne, Coco Plum, Dwarf Arborcola) to replace dead and missing plants in front of courtyards.

9-    Adjust tree straps around trees in front of units 2202, 2204, and 2206.

         10- Mulch the entry islands.

         11- Clean area around Rock at front entrance.

      12- Add Soil and Mulch around leaning trees on Westport and

           Compass Point Drive to mask roots.

         13- Trim Fakahatchee Grass.         

    14- Add Power to front island to light Palm Trees.
